Discover Your Unique Strength

Yesterday, I had a conversation about a project I’ve been passionate about, a project that I've been told "NO" to since 2017. Yes, you read that right—8 years of being told “NO” by someone on the other side of a screen, table, or phone.

Some people might say it’s time to quit, to move on, to let it go.

But I’m not like most people. I’m not the typical, run-of-the-mill person. I’m built differently. I’ve always had to fight for every opportunity, every inch, every penny. I didn’t attend an Ivy League school. I almost missed out on my scholarship at the University of Rhode Island. My college coaches told me I was going to be cut (but I ended up starting my freshman year). I didn’t have wealthy parents, and I started working at 13.

Looking back, I realize that’s why I’m so optimistic. I enjoy the struggle as much as the reward. I've created an unbreakable armor and a belief system that, at times, seems almost unreal. But that’s my secret strength.

You need to find your secret strength, whatever it is, and hold onto it—no matter what.

My reality is mine to shape. The grass may not always seem greener, but I make sure my grass stays green, no matter the “NO’s” and the endless adversity that constantly comes my way.

Start building your future. Start rewiring your mindset, even if you’re like me, constantly hearing "NO." Just like you stack small wins for bigger successes, stack your losses and "NO’s" because when you finally hear a "YES," it will be that much sweeter.

Never, ever give up!
