It’s All About Momentum

I used to fail at vacation a lot! I came back feeling like I needed a vacation from the vacation!

So….

You've been grinding. You've earned this. Weeks—maybe months—of dedication, structure, and commitment to your goals. And now? Vacation time. A break well-deserved.

But here's the catch: your first decision on vacation can either honor all the hard work you’ve put in—or quietly undo it.

Think about it. The moment you land, check in, or sit down at that first restaurant—your first choice sets the tone. Are you going to stay mindful, or throw caution to the wind? That first drink, that first bite, that first “I’ll just relax for now”—it’s not just a moment. It’s a signal to your brain: this is how we’re doing things this week.

And momentum? It loves direction especially when you lift! Vacations are for rest, adventure, indulgence—and yes, staying in rhythm.

The truth is, your first workout on vacation isn’t just about burning calories. It’s about momentum. That first session sends a message to your mind and body: I’m still showing up for myself—even in a new environment.

It doesn’t have to be intense. It just has to happen.

A 20-minute hotel room sweat. A beach jog. A quick lift at the resort gym. That first movement sets the tone. It creates an anchor. And once you’ve done it, everything else gets easier:

  • You’re more likely to make mindful food choices.

  • You’ll feel better in your body all week.

  • You return home without guilt—and with progress still in motion.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. Keep the promise to yourself, even on vacation.
